Caffrey, Jr., USN. All three are stationed in the Washington area and live in Springfield, Virgina. Forty-one other initial awards are being made to persons throughout the Navy establishment. The award was established by former Secretary of the Navy John B. Connally last May to provide recognition for junior officers and enlisted men whose professional achievements are exceptional. The title was shortened to Navy Achievement Medal in 1967. Photograph released January 22, 1962.
