Planetary Nebulas have nothing to do with planets, by the way. It's common usage name has been shifting recently from "Helix" and "Eye of God" to "Eye of Sauron" which I think it much more apt! This is 90 mins of data in 10 minute exposures. My guiding and collimation wasn't great so the stars are a bit blobby but I'm looking forward to doing this target again, and again, and again. Thanks to +john mills for suggesting I try this target on the night at QLD Astrofest star party recently. :) #astrophotography #celestron Here is my first crack at the Helix Nebula!
