In Paris, the locks on the Pont des Arts have been removed following the collapse of several sections of the bridge (I assume only the railings). Other cities are also removing the locks to prevent damage to the bridges. The Corktown Footbridge in Ottawa, Ontario has become another place where lovers affix padlocks to the bridge.
