He was intended for the medical profession and studied for some time with the late Dr. LIVINGSTONE, but circumstances compelled him to change his mind and he devoted himself to the drug business, starting for himself on King Street in 1847. He changed his place of business twice between that year and 1870 when he moved into the store on Charlotte Street which he has since occupied." Ed. note: T. B.
