Our boiler is in the cellar, and it has a drain hose on the bottom, as these things do, to collect condensed water. Normally these vent out to a nearby drain, but being in the cellar we point ours to a big bucket with an electric pump in. The pump needs running manually. Forget to run it and you get a mini flood. Forget to turn it off and you get a burnt out motor. This situation is crying out for automation - and here it is! This is a couple of floats hanging off a float switch. When the level rises the floats float a bit and the switch switches on, pumping water out. A classic bilge circuit.
