The Religious of the Sacred Heart operated a school at this location, but withdrew in September, 1913. The Sisters of St. Joseph began to use the building for commercial classes in two rooms as well as elementary classes in two other rooms. The commercial class provided training in typing, stenography, commercial law and other subjects related to business. On March 31, 1914, the Sacred Heart Convent and property ownership was secured by the Sisters of St. Joseph and became the new Mother House and Novitiate until 1953. Over the years, it housed the Sacred Heart School of Music, a boarding school for girls, and classes for what became Catholic Central High School. londonontario sacredheartconvent sistersofstjoseph |
