Seth was one of its notable builders. In his early years, Seth also helped construct Charles Durant's Camp Fairview on nearby Osprey Island, as well as Camp Cedars for the Frederick Durant family on the more distant Forked Lake. Aside from being a master carpenter and skilled rustic furniture craftsman, Seth was also a hunter, fisherman and wilderness guide. Today, a few of his surviving furniture pieces are on display in Bull Cottage on the grounds of the Adirondack Museum.
