The passing of the colors represents the transfer of authority and responsibility, as well as continuity for the unit from one commander to another with the act accomplished in front of the unit so that all could see and witness their new leader assuming their dutiful position. He who holds the flag also holds the Soldier’s allegiance. ”My time in command with the Weed Army Community Hospital and all her serve there has been a privilege. Over the past two years, it has been my pleasure to work with the WACH team, getting the job done right, alongside a team that so ably serves Fort Irwin Soldiers and their families." reflected Bustamante speaking from the lectern after relinquishing the colors in front the more than 100 WACH and NTC attendees.
