The Eidsborg Stave Church is believed to be built between 1250 and 1270 and is one of the best preserved examples of 28 protected stave churches in Norway. This is quite a contrast to the Middle Ages when there were more than 1000 stave churches in the country. This unique building form is seen as Norway’s contribution to world architecture. The church was restored in 2005-2008 and is still in use. The stave church is of a kind that has the exterior covered entirely with chipping.

Nuuk / Godthåb, Sermersooq, Greenland: Hans Egede, a Dano-Norwegian Lutheran missionary, came to the island in 1721 to convert the locals. His is considered the founder of Nuuk, his stay marked the beginning of Greenland’s colonial era. The original statue, holding a pastoral staff in his right hand and a bible in his left, was sculpted by August Saabye in 1894 and is outside Frederik's Church in Copenhagen, the Nuuk monument is a replica from 1922. The monument is associated with Danish colonialism by the pro-independence part of the population.
