Blackboard tree (Alstonia scholaris), also known as devil's tree in English, is an evergreen tropical tree in the family Apocynaceae. Native to southern China, tropical Asia and Australasia, upper side of its leaves are glossy, while the underside is grayish. Flowers bloom in October and are very fragrant.
