St. John's wort (Hypericum perforatum) is a flowering shrub native to Europe. Aquilegia or Columbine is perennial wildflower, which is native to most temperate areas of the world. It tends to cross-pollinate, hybridize, and self-seed freely, creating new strains and colors. Columbine flowers come in many different colors, including red, pink, white, yellow, blue and purple. They bloom in late spring to early summer and self-seed readily if not deadheaded.
