Vintage photograph of Officers of Chilean ironclad Blanco Encalada, 1891. Blanco Encalada was an armored frigate built by Earle's Shipbuilding Co. in England for the Chilean Navy in 1875. Blanco Encalada formed part of the congressional forces that brought down President José Manuel Balmaceda in the Chilean Civil War of 1891. She was sunk during that conflict on 23 April 1891, becoming the first warship to be sunk by a self-propelled torpedo.

It was the lanterns in the spire that alerted the revolutionaries to the British arrival.\n\nThe statue of Paul Revere is by Cyrus Edwin Dallin is installed in Boston's Paul Revere Mall near the Old North Church in the U.S. state of Massachusetts. The sculpture was modelled in 1885.

On the Harvard University side of Harvard Square stands the Wadsworth House, a   clapboard structure built in 1726 as a home for Harvard presidents. It served as the first headquarters for George Washington, who arrived on July 2, 1775, to take command of the Continental Army, which he did the following day. It is the second oldest building on the Harvard Campus.  From an illustration in the January 1876 issue of Harper's New Monthly Magazine.
Barrington Street is part of the original street grid when Halifax was established as a British fortress. \n\nStreets were named after leading British statesmen, but the origin of the name Barrington Street is unclear.
