A beautiful ruin rich in history, the Pool of Bethesda site in the old city of Jerusalem, Israel. Can you imagine sitting here with deep water waiting and hoping for healing, a stirring in the water, the strength to reach the pool. It was suggested that the pool was very deep. The three pillars toward the back are possibly a portion of the southern pool. The archway about three-quarters back is probably one of the supports for Saint Mary of the Probatic (the Byzantine church). The right side is likely to be the dam which separated the two pools.
