Spider Rock, is a sandstone spire that rises 230 meters from the canyon base of the Canyon of Chelly National Monument and is located in northeastern Arizona within the Navajo Indian Reservation. It is one of the landscapes of North America that have been inhabited uninterruptedly for the longest time. It preserves remains of the first indigenous tribes that lived in the area, the Anasazi.

Canyon de Chelly National Monument in Arizona features spectacular formations of sandstone, which visitors may view from overlooks on the rim of the canyon.  The monument sits on land wholly owned by the Navajo Nation.  The park is operated by the National Park Service in cooperation with the Navajo, and members of the tribe live in the bottom of the canyon amid flowing streams and cottonwood trees.
