Wolfsnout Goby Luposicya lupus occurs in the Indo-West Pacific from Pinda in Mozambique to Indonesia, north to Japan and south/east to Tonga in a depth range from 0-15m, max. length 3.5cm. The species inhabits large sponges, usually on the underside of floppy or fan types that grow on shallow reef flats and down on slopes that are subject to moderate currents. \nThis specimen was encountered even a bit deeper than the usual max. depth at 17m. \nTriton Bay, Kaimana Regency, West Papua Province, Indonesia \n3°54'59.5859 S 134°6'6.4748 E at 17m depth

Tasselled Wobbegong Eucrossorhinus dasypogon occurs in Eastern Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and Northern Australia. This ovoviviparous species can reach more than 3.5m length, common length is less than 2m. The tough skin is used sometimes for leather. \nTasselled Wobbegong is threatened by extensive coral reef habitat destruction (pollution and dynamite fishing), as well as expanding fisheries. A considerable section of its habitat is protected in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. \nThe species is primarily nocturnal. Usually, by burrowing into the sand and with sand on its fins, the sharks outline becomes almost completely invisible to prey. This specimen was encountered at 4m depth during night. The scare at the pectoral fin of this specimen is distinctive.\nTriton Bay, Kaimana Regency, Indonesia, 3°56'17.7941 S 134°7'10.2802 E at 4m depth

Bubble Coral Shrimp or Coleman's Coral Shrimp Palaemonella philippinensis (former Vir philippinensis) occurs in the tropical Indo-West Pacific from the Red Sea to the Philippines, to Japan and Australia in a depth range from 7-30m, max. length 2cm. The species was first described in 1984, and this is remarkably late, as the species is seen well and quite often. Rarely, however, do you see the whole animal from the side. Most of the time at least half is hidden in the coral. This specimen changed position and the photographer was there at the right moment. \nAs Cleaner Shrimps they are waving their antennae, they signal their presence to the fish so that they can benefit from their essential cleaning service: deworming.\nColeman's Coral Shrimp is transparent, so a blood vessel can be seen running through the back as well as all of its internal organs, even its eggs, when they are present, in the abdomen. The legs and claws, also transparent, are dotted with fine purplish blue horizontal spots at the joints, sometimes with a thin purple line at the end. The white and black stalked eyes are supplied by two small blood vessels.\nPlerogyra sinuosa can inflict a painful sting and provide protection for the organism as a whole, but Coleman's Coral Shrimps gain protection among stinging tentacles of his Bubblecoral Plerogyra sinuosa. \nTriton Bay, Westpapua, Indonesia 3°56'19.7539 S 134°7'15.1967 E at 15m depth
