Argemone Mexicana, also known as Mexican Prickly Poppy, is an upright, prickly, annual or perennial, boasting its bright yellow, poppy-like flowers, with numerous yellow or reddish stamens. Blooming for weeks from mid-spring to early summer, the showy flowers sit atop slightly prickly stems. The bluish-green leaves are toothed, spiny and adorned with gray-white veins.
