Sparkling Violetear (Colibri coruscans) hummingbird on the northwest slope of the Andes in Ecuador.  This is a very large hummingbird that is common in the central valley of Ecuador, even in the suburbs of the capitol, Quito.
An Amethyst Woodstar hummingbird is seen in flight near a red and yellow flower.  A long-tailed sylph hummingbird is perching on the other side of the same flower.   There are water droplets hanging at the tip of several flower petals.  The small Amethyst Woodstar and sylph hummingbirds have iridescent colors on their heads.  The focus in this photo is very sharp. The Amethyst Woodstar is in the family of the smallest hummingbirds in the world.
