The monument to the bandeirante, symbol of the square, was inaugurated on November 9, 1942. The monument was created by the plastic artist Armando Zago in response to the request of the Academic Center XI de Agosto of the Faculty of Law of São Paulo, to be donated to the people Goiás. The bronze sculpture is three and a half meters high and portrays the pioneer Bartolomeu Bueno da Silva in full body, holding a baton in his hands and armed with a blunderbuss.
