Houston, United States - February 27, 2023:  A Burlington Northern and Santa Fe (BNSF) Railway train traveling toward downtown Houston on a late winter afternoon.
The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad was originally opened in 1882 as an extension of The Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad.  It was built to transport Silver and iron ore. It follows the Animas River for 45 miles between Durango and Silverton, Colorado in the San Juan Mountains.
