Holmens Kirke - the Naval Church - in central Copenhagen, Denmark, was inaugurated as church under Christian 4 in 1619. The building itself stems back to 1563 where it was build by Frederik 2 as anchor smithy for the navy.It is built in dutch renaissance style. In this photo is seen the grand limestone side portal with a beautifully carved wooden door.

Christiansfeld is a small city based on a religious community and founded in 1773 and finished in 1806. The city is build in all yellow bricks and has a strong geometry centered around a central square with the church.
