KONTUM, VIET NAM: Sedang hilltribe ethnic men bang gongs prior to the start of an carnival in Kon Tum Province, 30 July 2024 in the central highland Vietnamese province of Kon Tum. \n\nThe space of gong culture in the Vietnam Highlands (Vietnamese: Không gian văn hóa Cồng Chiêng Tây Nguyên) encompasses the Central Highlands provinces of Kon Tum, Gia Lai, Đắk Lắk, Đắk Nông, and Lâm Đồng. This region is home to cultures that highly value gongs. On November 25, 2005, UNESCO recognized this gong culture as a Masterpiece of the Intangible Heritage of Humanity.

Atabaque, an African percussion musical instrument from the family of percussion membranophones. It is usually played in Afro-Brazilian religious rituals such as Candomblé and Umbanda, used to summon entities (orixás, inquices and voduns). It consists of a cylindrical or slightly conical drum made of wood and iron hoops, with one of the mouths covered with dry animal hide (usually ox, deer or goat), which in Afro-Brazilian rites are offered to entities.
