Valley of the Kings, Luxor, Egypt - July 22, 2022: The tomb of Ramses V and Ramses VI is also known as KV9. Tomb KV9 was originally constructed by Pharaoh Ramesses V. He was interred here, but his uncle, Ramesses VI, later reused the tomb as his own.\n\nThe tomb has some of the most diverse decoration in the Valley of the Kings. Its layout consists of a long corridor, divided by pilasters into several sections, leading to a pillared hall, from which a second long corridor descends to the burial chamber.

A recovered ancient fresco on display at the Aarhus Cathedral in Denmark, used to educate people who could not read, depicting the Christian concept of heaven, earth and hell, top to bottom. \nAarhus Cathedral's walls were originally covered with murals, but during the Reformation, they were whitewashed. Gradually several of the paintings have been been uncovered. Despite the loss, it is the church in Denmark that has the largest area of frescoes.

Bikaner, India - September 30, 2015: Jain temple Bhandreshwar paintings in Bikaner Rajasthan India. It was once the capital of the princely state of Bikaner. It was founded by Rao Bika in 1486. It is now the fourth biggest city in Rajasthan and although not receiving as many tourists as other cities in the state it is slowly gaining popularity because of the beautiful havelis (houses) an amazing fort palaces and temples like the one in the image. Bhandreshwar was started in 1468 and completed in 1514. The temple is dedicated to the fifth Jain Tirthankara (founders of the Jain religion), Sumatinathji.

Pyramus and Thisbe are a pair of legendary, ill-fated lovers from Babylon whose story forms part of Ovid's Metamorphoses. House of Loreius Tiburtinus, Pompeii.\n\nPyramus and Thisbe's parents, driven by rivalry, forbade their union, but they communicated through a crack in the wall between their houses. They planned to meet under a mulberry tree, but a series of tragic misunderstandings led to their deaths: Thisbe fled from a lioness, leaving her cloak behind, which Pyramus found and mistook as evidence of her death. Believing Thisbe was killed by the lioness, Pyramus committed suicide, staining the mulberry fruits with his blood. Thisbe, upon finding Pyramus dead, also killed herself. The gods changed the color of the mulberry fruits to honor their forbidden love.
Authentic scene depicted on papyrus showing the climax of the journey to the afterlife. The heart of the deceased is being weighed against Maat, the goddess of justice and truth. On the right, Osiris, god of the underworld and rebirth, presides over the scene. Jackal-headed Anubis, overseer of mummification, adjusts the scales.
