Petra, built around 300 B.C. by the Nabataean Arabs, is the world famous archaeological site in Jordan's southwestern desert. Capital of the Nabatean Kingdom it seamlessly blends Arab style with Hellenistic and Roman or Byzantine architecture. Accessed via Al Siq, a narrow canyon, it contains tombs and temples carved into the pink sandstone cliffs, hence the 'Rose City' The most famous and iconic structure is Al Khazneh, a temple with an ornate Greek-style facade, also known as The Treasury

The Grand Tetons, part of the Teton Range in northwestern Wyoming, was formed over millions of years through tectonic activity, these mountains were further sculpted by glacial erosion. The history of Grand Teton National Park, established in 1929, is intertwined with early Native American presence, fur trading, and conservation efforts spearheaded by figures like John D. Rockefeller Jr.

The red deer (Cervus elaphus) is one of the largest deer species. A male red deer is called a stag or hart, and a female is called a doe or hind. The red deer inhabits most of Europe, the Caucasus Mountains region, Anatolia, Iran, and parts of western Asia. It also inhabits the Atlas Mountains of Northern Africa; being the only living species of deer to inhabit Africa.. \nRed deer are ruminants, characterized by a four-chambered stomach. Genetic evidence indicates that the red deer, as traditionally defined, is a species group, rather than a single species, though exactly how many species the group includes remains disputed. The closely related and slightly larger American elk, or wapiti, native to North America and northeastern Asia, had been regarded as a subspecies of red deer, but recently it has been established as a distinct species. The ancestor of all red deer (and wapiti) probably originated in central Asia and resembled sika deer. \nAlthough at one time red deer were rare in parts of Europe, they were never close to extinction. Reintroduction and conservation efforts, such as in the United Kingdom and Portugal, have resulted in an increase of red deer populations, while other areas, such as North Africa, have continued to show a population decline. \n\nThis is a common Species in the Netherlands. They are restricted in closed wired Areas. This Picture is made in Flevoland (Oostvaarders Plassen).

Calico is a ghost town and former mining town in San Bernardino County, California, United States. Located in the Calico Mountains of the Mojave Desert region of Southern California, it was founded in 1881 as a silver mining town, and today has been converted into a county park named Calico Ghost Town. Located off Interstate 15, it lies 3 miles (4.8 km) from Barstow and 3 miles from Yermo. Giant letters spelling CALICO can be seen on the Calico Peaks behind the ghost town from the freeway. Walter Knott purchased Calico in the 1950s, architecturally restoring all but the five remaining original buildings to look as they did in the 1880s. Calico received California Historical Landmark, and in 2005 was proclaimed by then-Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to be California's Silver Rush Ghost Town.
