The Carnegie Library in Marlborough, Massachusetts, is a historic building that was part of the widespread Carnegie library movement, which significantly contributed to the development of public libraries across the United States. It was built in 1903 with a grant from the philanthropist Andrew Carnegie, who funded the construction of over 2,500 libraries worldwide between 1883 and 1929.\n\nThe library is designed in the Classical Revival style, which was common for Carnegie libraries, and includes elements such as symmetrical facades, columns, and pediments.\n\nA modern extension to the library, larger in area than the original building, was built behind the original structure. The architects thoughtfully incorporated roof lines that blend with the Carnegie building.

William Emerson, father of minister William Emerson and grandfather of transcendentalist writer and lecturer Ralph Waldo Emerson. n 1842, the American writer Nathaniel Hawthorne rented the Old Manse for $100 a year. The Old Manse The house is located on Monument Street, with the Concord River just behind it. The property neighbors the North Bridge, a part of Minute Man National Historical Park. It was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1966 and is open to the public as a nonprofit museum.
