The species is often encountered in silty areas with low visibility at 1-30 m depth. \nSome other fishes like a Rabbitfish, two species of Sergeant Major Fishes and three species of Snappers, Surgeonfishes, Butterflyfishes, Damselfishes a Parrotfish are there. \nTriton Bay, Kaimana Regency, Indonesia, 3°51'36.6 S 133°58'17.55 E at 5m depth$

Even hands of divers will be cleaned if presented to the cleaning station! \nThis specimen was encountered in the Triton Bay, Kaimana Regency, West Papua Province, Indonesia, 3°54'50.604 S 134°6'0.828 E at 15m depth.$
