Rome, Italy - The colossal landmark on Piazza Venezia, called the Altare della Patria Built in honour of the King Victor Emanuel II the first king of unified Italy. It is also dicated to the Unknown soldier. Astride on horseback is King Victor Emanuel. It is said that after the foundrymen set up the statue, some of them had a celebration party inside the belly of the horse.
