Rome, Italy, October 22 -- The Contarelli chapel inside the church of St. Louis of the French, with the triptych of Caravaggio's paintings on the life of St. Matthew. Built between 1518 and 1589 on plans by the architect Giacomo Della Porta, the church was consecrated on 8 October 1589. Bruges, Belgium - June 22, 2012: The Belfry (Belltower) in Market Square (Markt) in historic city center. It is a medieval bell tower that  formerly housed a treasury and the municipal archives, and served as an observation post for spotting fires and other danger. In the 16th century the tower received a carillon, allowing the bells to be played by means of a hand keyboard. Bruges has most of its medieval architecture intact and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000. Tourists are walking around.
