Plaza San Martín - San Martín Square - Plaza General San Martín (Buenos Aires) is the main green space in the Retiro neighborhood in Buenos Aires. Inaugurated in 1862 where a bullring had previously existed, it was declared a National Historic Site in 1942. It is surrounded by Santa Fe Avenue, Esmeralda, Arenales, Maipú streets, Libertador Avenue, Florida street and San Martín street. the bridge was the busiest point in London; 8,000 pedestrians and 900 vehicles crossed every hour. \n\nThis was then sold to Robert P. McCulloch, real estate developer who founded Lake Havasu City. He installed the bridge to attract tourists.

This illustration comes from a beautiful book on the history of arts in Italy. It was published in 1884 in Germany by the famous art historian Carl von Lützow.
