Poitiers, Vienne, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France: altar tabernacle with Solomonic columns at the Saint-Louis Chapel, commonly known as the Henri-IV Chapel, is a chapel built between 1608 and 1613 in Poitiers by the Jesuit order. It is attached to the college formed by these same monks after their arrival in the city in 1604.

One of Tirol’s true architectural gems is the splendid Cistercian Abbey of Stams, founded in 1273. The photo shows the interior of the baroque collegiate church. The altar screen is overgrown with thick tendrils, a “Tree of Life”, springing from the base of the altar with the figures of Adam and Eve ascends via the central figure of the salvational “Immaculata” to the crucifixion as a symbol of redemption.
Baliem-Valley, New Guinea, Indonesia - August 22, 2017: An approx. 300 years old Mummy of a former great chief of the Dani  people (also spelled as Ndani). The mummy sits in a hut of the village and is not kept in a museum or behind glass. The Dani inhabit the Baliem Valley in the central highlands of West Papua (the Indonesian part of New Guinea).

Market Square, Nuremberg (Hauptmarkt) - the main square of the city.\nA beautiful fountain or a Beautiful fountain (Schöner Brunnen / Schoener Brunnen), located on the northwestern edge of the square.\n\nThe fountain was built between 1385 and 1396 from sandstone. Today on the Market Square there is a colorfully painted copy of the fountain made of seashell - 1903.\n\nThe beautiful fountain has a height of about 19 meters and the shape of a Gothic church spire. It consists of four tiers, which are decorated with gilding and 40 colorful figures (statues), personifying and representing: scientists; evangelists and church fathers; electors and good heroes of different times; Moses and the prophets. Gargoyles in the lower part of the fountain symbolize the seven deadly sins, and are also designed to protect the city from dishonesty.

East Doors (Gates of Paradise) by Lorenzo Ghiberti on Florence Baptistery (Battistero di San Giovanni) in Tuscany, Italy. These doors consist of 10 panels depicting scenes from the Old Testament and were commissioned in 1424. Once completed, they were described by Michelangelo as being fit to be the 'gates of paradise'. The doors displayed are now a copy of the original, with those being displayed in a local museum.

An image of the Holy Baby Jesus, a wooden sculpture carved in the XV century with olive wood from the Garden of Gethsemane in Jerusalem and covered with precious ex voto, present in a chapel of the ancient church of Santa Maria in Aracoeli, in the Capitoline Hill. According to popular belief, this figure is endowed with miraculous powers. Photo in high definition format.

Excavated 1894-1895\n\nThe brothers Aulus Vettius Restitutus and Aulus Vettius Conviva commissioned their Fresco decorations from one of the leading artists; workshops so that their home would be not only a comfortable residence but also a status symbol. Cupids and their female equivalents ( psyches ) engaged in a number of different activities. The two owners were likely not brothers, but former slaves who had worked under the same master before being freed; they may even have been same-sex life partners.
