Located off Interstate 5 in Northern California, about 13 miles south of the state capital at Sacramento, the Stone Lakes Wildlife Refuge is home to thousands of migrating water fowl who follow the Pacific Flyway.  This shot was taken in spring as the water lillies are in bloom. The sanctuary is part of the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta and is a protected area.  Birdwatching tours are available monthly.
