Brejoeira Palace, national heritage since 1910, is located south of the village of Monção, in the parish of Pinheiros. The Brejoeira Palace was built in granite, L-shaped, with three turrets. Building of Neoclassical style, still with Baroque influence, it was built in the early 19th century, by Luís Pereira Velho de Moscoso, Fidalgo da Casa Real and Knight of the Order of Christ and was completed by his son, Simão Pereira Velho de Moscoso who died in 1881, without offspring. The Palace was inherited by the Caldas and Palmeirim families of Lisbon, having been put up for sale, at public auction, 20 years later, being acquired by the Board Member Pedro Maria da Fonseca Araújo. In 1937 the Palace was once again sold, being acquired by Commander Francisco de Oliveira Paes to offer it to his daughter Maria Hermínia Silva d'Oliveira Paes, born in 1918. It was this who restructured the property and proceeded with the planting and marketing of the prestigious wine from the Alvarinho variety, \
