Archers Post, Kenya - August 13, 2005: Samburu womans with traditional colourfull necklaces enjoying conversation in the heat of the day near Samburu Game Reserve, The Samburu tribe and Masai are cousins, and just like the Masai, they have tried hard to retain their traditional way of life. They are true semi-nomadic pastoralists and raise goats, cows in the savanas of northern Kenya. Should be hard to raise domestic animals in a region where predators are plentifull. Like the Masais they are known for their bravery and can defend their cattle against lions and leopards with only a spear and a shield made of buffalo hide.
