A detailed view of the bronze statue of the Emperor Gaius Iulius Caesar Augustus, also know as Octavian or Augustus, along the Fori Imperiali boulevard, in the ancient and imperial heart of Rome. This bronze statue, placed in front of the Forum of Augustus, is a copy of the marble original currently preserved in the Vatican Museums. Caesar Augustus was the first Roman emperor, revered as father of the homeland (Patri Patriae) and artecife of a long period of domination, prosperity and peace throughout the empire, known as Pax Romana or Pax Augustea.
