In 1859  a Carrara marble statue representing the Empress Josephine de Beauharnais, wife of  the French Emperor Napoleon 1, was  installed at La Savane Park in Fort de  France. In 1991, the statue was beheaded by a group of people and red paint was splattered on it as a reminder of her role in reinstating slavery.

Sculpted by Alfred Lenoir, was inaugurated in 1914, it is surmounted by Marianne carrying a bouquet of flowers in her arms. The epidemic lasted until 1903, it explains why Grand-Bassam lost its status as capital to Bingerville in 1900. There are many identifiable names visible on this monument which was erected by the Association of Minor Asia and the Association of Minor Asia 'Ionia' Rethymnon. The genocide took place after The Young Turk Revolution involving the years 1914-1923 which impacted the Christian minority Pontic Greeks in Anatolia. The Young Turks wanted to 'Turkify' the Ottoman Empire and so a genocidal campaign took place against non-Turkish minorities. Between 1914-1923, about 353,000 Pontic Greeks were killed and 1.5 million were expelled.

Rome, Italy - March 17 2018: The equestrian monument dedicated to Giuseppe Garibaldi is an imposing equestrian statue placed on the highest point of the Janiculum hill on the square Piazza Garibaldi. It was released by Emilio Gallori in 1895, and has been referred by the title the Hero of the Two Worlds.
