This colorful image depicts a painting of the altarpiece: Our Lady of the Seven Sorrows. The Virgin Mary. This altarpiece (unknown author), is 5m by 6m and dates from the late eighteenth and early nineteenth century. It is located above the left altar of the transept.
Donatello (1386-1466) was an Italian Renaissance sculptor from Florence. Here in this sculpture he is seen in the open public space of the Uffizi Colonnade. The sculpture was created by Girolamo Torrini and Giovanni Bastianini in 1848.
