This image shows an archaeological site featuring tall Roman-style columns, likely part of the remains of an ancient structure, set against a modern urban backdrop. The columns are well-preserved and stand in a row, elevated on a platform. The ruins appear to be part of an ongoing conservation effort, as suggested by the protective barriers and signs nearby.\n\nThis site is reminiscent of Roman temples or forums found in cities like Córdoba, Spain, where Roman history has left a significant mark. The surrounding area combines historic architecture with more contemporary buildings, showcasing the integration of ancient history into modern city life. The bright lighting and clear sky indicate the image was taken on a sunny day, adding to the dramatic presence of the ruins.

Kerkyra Korfu, Greece\nJune, 2019\nThe neoclassical castle was built between 1828 and 1832 on behalf of the English Governor of the Ionian Republic Sir Frederick Adam, to whom it served as a summer residence from 1831. After the end of the British Protectorate and the unification of the Ionian Islands with the Kingdom of Greece in 1864, the site was left for use by the Greek royal family and was given its present name. The last time King Constantine II lived in the castle was before he went into exile in 1967. It stood empty for a long time; it was not until 1994 that the site was awarded to the Greek State in a dispute before the European Court of Justice. The castle has been renovated and the park is open to visitors.\n\nThe castle now houses a museum. Mon Repos is best known for the birth of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, in 1921.
