The Athenian Treasury, a temple-shaped building where the Athenians stored presents (or offerings) for Apollo at the archeological site Delphi in Greece in summer. The ancient Greeks considered Delphi to be the centre of the world and marked the place with a stone monument, a navel (omphalos). Delphi was the home of oracles that were consulted before important decisions were made. The sacred precinct is situated at the south-western slope of Mount Parnassus and is recognised by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
