A Female Harpy Eagle is seen in a nest with a chick.  This large raptor bird is very rare and shy.  It is endangered.  The chick is large but not fully grown.  In this photo, both birds can be seen in the nest.   The Harpy Eagle has the largest claws of all birds in the world.  It is also the only Eagle that doesn't soar, due to its short wingspan.

The crest helps the Eagle hear small prey in the area.   The Harpy Eagle has the largest claws of all birds in the world.  It is also the only Eagle that doesn't soar, due to its short wingspan.

African Harrier-Hawk.\nThe African harrier-hawk, harrier hawk or gymnogene (Polyboroides typus) is a bird of prey. It is about 60–66 centimetres (24–26 in) in length. It breeds in most of Africa south of the Sahara. The only other member of the genus is the allopatric Madagascar harrier-hawk (Polyboroides radiatus).

Long-crested Eagle - The long-crested eagle (Lophaetus occipitalis) is an African bird of prey. Like all eagles, it is in the family Accipitridae. It is currently placed in a monotypic genus Lophaetus. It is characterized by the feathers making up the shaggy crest.
