Variable, short to tall, usually unbranched biennial, hairy plant. Leaves pale green, kidney-shaped to heart-shaped, toothed, smelling of garlic when crushed. Flowers white, 3-5mm. Fruit 20-70mm, erect.\nHabitat: Hedgerows, woodland margins, scrub, roadsides and waste ground, generally on calcareous or base-rich soils.
