The neo-gothic splendor of the New Town Hall dominates architecturally the north side of the Marienplatz and is the seat of the Lord Mayor. Its tower with the Münchner Kindel on the top offers a great view and houses the famous bell tower, which is a true spectator magnet. Here you can also see the Tower's clock.

Following the attempted assassination of Emperor Franz Joseph in 1853, the Emperor's brother Archduke Ferdinand Maximilian inaugurated a campaign to create a church to thank God for saving the Emperor's life. Funds for construction were solicited from throughout the Empire. The church was dedicated in 1879 on the silver anniversary of Emperor Franz Joseph and his wife Empress Elisabeth.

The Tuileries Garden (French: Jardin des Tuileries) is a public garden located between the Louvre and the Place de la Concorde in the 1st arrondissement of Paris, France. Created by Catherine de' Medici as the garden of the Tuileries Palace in 1564, it was eventually opened to the public in 1667 and became a public park after the French Revolution. Since the 19th century, it has been a place where Parisians celebrate, meet, stroll and relax.
