This dynamic pose is particularly notable because it was one of the first equestrian statues in the world to be cast with the horse balanced on its hind legs, supported by the tail.\n\nThe cannon in front of the statue base is one captured by Jackson from the Spanish at Pensacola, FL in 1818.
