Petrified Forest national park, Arizona - USA, April 19, 2024. The restored Inn along route 66 from the heydays of the 1940s and 50s, was improved from the original Stone Tree House Inn by the Civilian Conservation Corp during the depression. Pueblo Revival Style architecture features stucco masonry, thick walls, earth tones, flat roofs, and projecting roof beams called vigas. The structure sits on shifting clay requiring constant maintenance. In a very remote location served as an oasis from the harsh desert for early travelers.
