The tomb of Robinson Cruso in St Nicholas’ Chapel in King’s Lynn, Norfolk, Eastern England, which also contains other members of his family. It has been suggested that Daniel Defoe, on one of his journeys through England, saw the name ‘Cruso’ on a visit to King’s Lynn and used it in his book ‘Robinson Crusoe’ (published in 1719). However, all the people mentioned on the stones lived after the book was written.
