Swallowtail Cardinalfish Verulux cypselurus (ex Rhabdamia) forms large schools among rocks or above corals of lagoon patch reefs, spreading out at night to catch plankton. The species occurs in the Indo Pacific from East Africa to the Marshall Islands, south to New Guinea, north to the Ryukyu Islands in a depth range from 2-15m, max. length 6cm. This school of Cardinalfishes finds shelter under hard corals, a Table Coral Acropora sp. at the left, a Hump Coral Porites lutea at the right side. Palau, near German Channel 7°7'11.09 N 134°16'8.5 E at 17m depth.
