Thousand of white pigeons live at the Shrine, a place of such holiness that if a grey pigeon joins the flock, within seven days it will have turned white. The writing on the dome of the Shrine reads, in Arabic, 'Hazrat Ali'.
One central desideratum discussed in the very first assembly of the Association of Austrian Visual Artists Vienna Secession was the erection of a dedicated exhibition building.
