Admiral Lord Horatio Nelson, one of Britain's greatest ever naval commanders, born in North Norfolk in 1758, spent his early years in the village of Burnham Thorpe. This painted statue in full naval uniform and complete with his famous Bicorn hat can be found outside a shop in a village close by to Burnham Thorpe, where he is a local hero.
