The blood ride in the Upper Swabian vineyard is considered the largest equestrian procession in Europe and takes place on Friday after Ascension Day, the so-called Blood Friday. It was first mentioned in writing in 1529 and was already known as a custom from the old days. The blood ride is traditionally a pilgrimage for men.
