The orange Iceland poppy (Papaver nudicaule) is native to subpolar regions of northern Europe and North America, First described by botanists in 1759, the bright orange flowers are held aloft on thin stems about 1 foot / 30 cms tall. Here, a poppy flower is being pollinated by two honey bees. Honey bees feed their young with the pollen.
