In studio, London, England - September 16, 2011: On 5th June 1975, the British Labour Government, led by Prime Minister Harold Wilson, held a referendum to decide whether Great Britain should remain within the European Community (European Economic Community - EEC): at the time, it was more commonly known as the 'Common Market'. Every household in the UK received a set of booklets, of which this is one, giving the arguments both for and against staying within the EEC.
