Spiraea cantoniensis, also called Bridal-wreath Spiraea, Cape May, Double white May, May bush, and Reeve's Spiraea, is a deciduous perennial shrub typically grown as an ornamental plant in gardens and parks. The plant can reach a height of about 2 meters, tends to be twiggy and spreading into a fountain-like form, and displays frothy clusters of white flowers along the terminal of arching branches. The bush blooms in April and May; hence the common name of May bush.

Tabernaemontana divaricata, also called Crape jasmine, Crepe jasmine, Ceylon moonbeam etc., is an evergreen shrub or small tree native to South Asia, Southeast Asia and China. At one time in history, every white flower with a sweet fragrance was nicknamed jasmine, and the crape jasmine is not a real jasmine. In fact, crape jasmine plants belong to the Apocynaceae family and, typical of the family, broken branches “bleed” milky fluid.

Snapdragon is a garden plant of the genus Antirrhinum, which is available in many showy colors except blue. It is called snapdragon because the flower resembles the face of a dragon that opens and closes its mouth, while in Japan it is called gold fish flower for the flower’s resemblance to gold fish. It is treated as an annual plant, because it cannot survive summer heat, although it is essentially a perennial plant.
